About Me
I have been passionately working in the psychology profession for over 35 years. I’m honored to work in a field where I am continually inspired to deepen, stretch and grow both personally and professionally by my incredible teachers, colleagues and clients.
My background is in family systems, with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University. Soon after earning my Masters, I moved to New York City where I began my private practice as a counselor while volunteering at Manhattan Center for Living, where I facilitated a weekly group for women living with life-challenging illnesses.
My experience specializing in mind/body health gave me an opportunity to work as a behavioral health counselor, lecturer and workshop presenter at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires. After moving to Washington state, I continued my mind/body wellness specialty work in private practice and through teaching workshops at UW Women’s Center, Cancer Care Alliance and Cancer Lifeline.
I have lived on San Juan Island for the last 20 years where I continue my private practice. I have also had the privilege of teaching workshops for women in Seattle, Denver, the Bay Area, and San Juan Island, incorporating expressive arts, mindfulness, guided visualization, collage and equine-assisted therapy.
For the last several years, I have been working primarily online with individuals and couples from all over the world.
I am currently licensed in the state of Washington (LMHC) and in Colorado as (LPC). I'm also a registered hypnotherapist, as well as trained in EMDR, EAGALA (equine-assisted therapy) and Narrative Coaching.
When I’m not actively doing the work I love, I enjoy listening to inspiring podcasts, cooking with my family, and hiking the coastal trails with my smiley puppy.
About Online Teletherapy
All major counseling, psychology and social work associations have endorsed teletherapy as a viable form of counseling.
Teletherapy and telemedicine is a growing field that provides professional healthcare to many. Teletherapy isn’t for everyone and if I believe you will get better care in a traditional setting, I won’t hesitate to say so. However, for most people, the convenience, flexibility, and affordability is not only appealing, but encourages commitment to their counseling experience.
Ultimately, in any therapeutic setting, it all comes down to the trust and confidence you have with your therapist. As in a traditional setting, I must abide by ethical and legal standards according to my license.
I am HIPAA compliant.

When I found Jillian I was in the midst of a major life crisis; I was 7 months pregnant and my husband had just left me to be with someone else. I was seeking a compassionate, experienced counselor to help me cope with the initial pain, anger and anxiety. Also, I chose Jillian because on her website she says, "I'm a big believer in seeing life challenges, especially the most painful ones, as a catalyst for self-discovery, personal growth and positive change." This resonated with me. I knew that I wanted my experience to be an opportunity for personal growth. I am incredibly grateful that Jillian indeed helped me grieve and work through the challenges of divorce and early motherhood, learn about myself and transform my life in a positive way. She offered practical, specific tools to incorporate into my daily routine. She helped me to reconnect with myself and clarify/move towards my life goals. She offered constructive advice for interacting with my ex-husband and maintaining boundaries. Through working with her I was able to care for myself so that I could be a mindful, present mama and really soak in the precious moments with my newborn daughter. My sessions with Jillian made a huge difference as I navigated this time in my life. I could not recommend her more highly.
